The Daily Notes -- September 1, 1911 Jury Visits Opera House
At noon the jury went to the Opera House and saw a run of "The New Church Carpet," the reel on when the fire alarm was raised. A representative from the General Film Company cut the film to show what happened, although he did not let it catch fire.
The width of the Pike street doorway measured and found to be 4 feet 8 1/2 inches wide while the state law provides for 5 feet. The doors were tied on the inside and there was a space of about three inches on one side and about a foot on the other between the wall and the door.
