The Daily Notes -- August 28, 1911 LIVES ARE SAVED BY HEROIC ACTS
There are many who played the part of the hero in the awful scenes last night. The volunteer firemen are entitled to great credit for the part they played in helping the people out of the building. John A. Hoxworth never once lost his nerve and he was instrumental in saving many lives. C. F. Ferguson helped many down the fire escape, and many others played well their parts.
