Canonsburg Manger and Building Inspectors Censured For Neglect.
CANONSBURG, Penn., Sept. 1. – The coroner’s jury which held an inquest to-day into the panic of last Saturday night during a moving-picture show at the Canonsburg Opera House, when twenty-six persons were killed and several score injured, returned a verdict censuring the manager of the show and the State Department of Factory and Building Inspection. The jury states that it is unable to find any person or persons guilty criminally.
C. P. Ferguson, manager of the show, was condemned for not providing police protection for the premises, while the State Department of Factory and Building Inspection is censured for approving the narrow street entrance leading to the auditorium of the theatre.
