The Daily Notes -- August 31, 1911 MEMORIAL SERVICES ABANDONED

Pastors of Town Believe It Would Tend to Prolong Grief.

The proposed plan of holding a memorial service in one or more of the churches next Sabbath has been abandoned. Some of the ministers, when approached, expressed the belief that the holding of such a service might tend to prolong the grief of the afflicted people, and for this reason deemed it best to omit a memorial service. Two of the pastors, the Rev. G. G. Kerr and the Rev. C. D. Fulton, have been out of town.

Rev. Mr. Fulton returned last evening and Rev. Mr. Kerr is expected today.
