The Daily Notes -- August 28, 1911 Burgess Asks That All Business Cease on Tuesday

Proclamation Designates Period from 10 to 4 o'clock for Suspension of Trade

Burgess W. H. Dunlap this afternoon issued a proclamation requesting that all places of business in Canonsburg be closed from 10 a.m. To 4 p.m., Tuesday, the day on which most of the funerals will be held.

The Burgess has been approached by a number of people, and upon inquiry among the merchants he has found that they are favorable to the closing of their stores Tuesday.

While one or two of the funerals were held this afternoon, the greater number will be held Tuesday.
