Postmaster Reese Receives Instruction From Department in Response to Request

When Postmaster T. M. Reese read in last evening's Notes that business would be suspended in Canonsburg during part of Tuesday, on account of the many funerals, he wired the department at Washington for permission to close the local postoffice from 10 to 4.

The following reply was received by telegraph this morning:

"Washington D.C., Aug. 29,

Postmaster, Canonsburg, Pa.

Close postoffice for funerals as requested.
